Johnny Depp named People Magazine’s sexiest man alive!

“Pirates of the Caribbean” super star Johnny Depp was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for the second time, Reuters is reporting.

“Whether it’s onscreen in roles like Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise or at home with his family on their private Bahamian island, the 46-year-old father of two with 25 years in show business still reigns as Hollywood’s most irresistible iconoclast,” People said in a statement.

Depp will next be seen in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” which opens in March of 2010. He is also the executive producer and star of “Rum Diaries” which will open next year.

ABC Daytime promotes “NINE” by naming the Top Nine General Hospital Moments of 2009

ABC Daytime is joining ABC and Disney in their efforts to support and promote the upcoming movie musical “NINE”. Throughout the month of December, All My Children, One Life To Live and General Hospital will incorporate “NINE” into their show’s story lines.  To kick off the celebration, the shows have  begun counting down the Top Nine moments of 2009 for every soap. Check out part 1 of the Top Nine One Life To Live Moments of 2009 below.  “NINE” stars Daniel-Day Lewis, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench,  Marion Cotillard and Nicole Kidman and is directed by Rob Marshall. The film will be released on Christmas Day.

Beyonce and Lady Gaga team up for “Video Phone” video

Paul McCartney’s Thanksgiving Special to air on ABC

Recording artist Paul McCartney will be featured on an ABC television special on Thanksgiving night, November 26. The special will include rarely seen footage of Mc Cartney, revealing interviews and a musical performance. Here is the ABC press release about the show:

“Paul McCartney: Good Evening New York City,” at 10:00 p.m., ET
Forty-four years ago, four kids from Liverpool performed what was then the largest, highest grossing rock concert ever – the Beatles Live at Shea Stadium. In the summer of 2009, Paul McCartney did it again, performing at Shea’s former site, New York’s Citi Field in Queens, NY. ABC will bring viewers this dazzling concert in which he performs Beatles, Wings and solo classics. Culled from nearly three hours of music and video, the program is an emotional journey through his legendary 50-year musical career and includes footage of the original Beatles concert at Shea. McCartney also talks candidly about those early days and what it was like to return to a place where he performed at the height of Beatlemania.

American Idol’s Kris Allen promoting newly released album

American Idol winner,Kris Allen, releases his self titled debut album today.  Having wrapped up an appearance on  The Tonight With Conan O’Brien, Allen,  is forging a full press tour to promote the album.  In the next few weeks, the singer is expected to visit

Good Morning America and “It’s On With Alexa Chung” on MTV today (November 17) and VH1’s Top 20 Countdown on November 21.
The singer is expected to present at the American Music Awards and will appear on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on November 23.

General Hospital Weekly Promo 2009: Week of November 9

Here is the promo for next week’s General Hospital. It deals with the aftermath of Claudia’s death. I wonder if James Franco’s new character is “watching”? James Franco debuts on General Hospital on November 20.

AFI Festival Hightlight: ‘Guy and Madeline On a Park Bench’

GMPoster“Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench” is look at the Boston jazz music scene told through the eyes of a young, up and coming trumpeter, Guy, and  Madeline, the woman he is involved with.  As the story progresses, Guy and Madeline part ways as Guy quickly finds a substitute for his attention and concentrates on music. Madeline’s coming of age begins as she rents a room from a friendly older couple and works as a waitress in a restaurant. She and her co-workers break into song and dance, showing a great love of music and how Guy’s love of music influenced her life.

Through her journey, Madeline decides to move to New York just as Guy realizes that he needs Madeline in his life. They meet again on the eve of Madeline’s Big Apple move. The movie is a great reflection of love and the love of music.

The film stars real life acclaimed jazz trumpeter, Jason Palmer.  The music was composed by Justin Hurwitz and recorded by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra.  The film also stars Desiree Garcia, Sandha Khin,  trombonist Andre Hayward, and Kelly Kaleta.

Music is a another character in the film as the movies characters have impromptu jam sessions where they show their craft.  Jazz, dance, music and movie lovers will love this unique look at the movie musical. To view a trailer, click HERE.
