Dancing With The Stars was a “Thriller” night on Tuesday as all of the professional dancers performed a special tribute to Michael Jackson. Performing in the tribute were Season 9 dancers Kym Johnson, Karina Smirnoff, Cheryl Burke, Dmitry Chaplin, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Edyta Sliwinska, Anna Trebunskaya, Alec Mazo, Lacey Schwimmer , Jonathan Roberts, Mark Ballas, Tony Dovolani, Anna Demidova, Louis van Amstel, Chelsie Hightower  and Derek Hough. The show has danced to 17 performances over the years to songs of Michael Jackson. Clips and interviews were shown throughout the show with the professional dancers talking about Michael Jackson. ” He is an inspiration to anyone who wants to dance ” stated dancer Mark Ballas. Michael’s siblings, Jermaine Jackson and LaToya Jackson also spoke on the taped tribute talking about Michael’s love of dance and his love for the show Dancing With The Stars.

The dancers performed to “I Want You Back”, Man In The Mirror” and “Thriller”. Latoya Jackson introduced the musical tribute.

Along in the audience with LaToya Jackson were Michael’s mother Katharine Jackson and brother Jermaine Jackson.

Dancing With The Stars airs Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC.

Kathy Ireland is the latest celebrity to be eliminated from Dancing With The Stars. Kathy danced with Tony Dovolani who was previously partnered with Jane Seymour and Susan Lucci. 

“I wouldn’t change a minute of it,” Ireland,  told PEOPLE  Magazine. “To be able to work with Tony the past six weeks has changed my life forever. I can do so many things I never thought I could do. I feel like the biggest winner because I got him as my teacher.”

 There are 13 remaining couples dancing, including current front runners, Aaron Carter, Mya and Donny Osmond. Dancing With The Stars airs Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC.

First Marie, now Donny’s doing it. The latest round of contestants were announced for Dancing With The Stars. Perhaps the most talked about news was of the name that wasn’t on it, Paula Abdul. It was rumored that Abdul would spend her Monday and Tuesday nights dancing. The actual cast “dubbed the biggest season yet” by ABC, the cast seems just like every other cast before them.

Dancing when the season premieres on September 21, are :

Chuck Liddell: The Ultimate Fighting Championship member.

Louie Vito: Professional snowboarder.

Natalie Coughlin: Olympic gold-medal winning swimmer.

Michael Irvin: Hall of Fame winning former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys.

Kelly Osbourne: Singer/actress/reality star.

Macy Gray: Singer.

Debi Mazar: Entourage co-star.

Ashley Hamilton: The son of George Hamilton and Alana Stewart (and stepson of Rod Stewart).

Kathy Ireland: Former Sports Illustrated model.

Joanna Krupa: Swimsuit model.

Aaron Carter: Pop singer and younger brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter.

Donny Osmond: Former teen idol and actor.

Steve Harvey joins Good Morning America

SteveHarveyComedian, author, actor and radio host, Steve Harvey, will add another title to his already busy resume.  Starting this week, Harvey will join Good Morning America as a contributor for the next several months.  The morning news program has also recently added All My Children’s Cameron Mathison and Dancing With The Stars contestant  Melissa Rykroft to their roster as well. Good Morning America airs weekday mornings on ABC.

Susan Lucci announced as one of the presenters for the Daytime Emmy Awards

51052111VB034_emmynomPresenters for the “36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards” have been announced. The ceremony will be broadcast at 8 p.m. Aug. 30 on the CW network. Vanessa Williams is the host. There will be a one hour Red Carpet Pre-show right before the ceremony, hosted by Lara Spenser and Kevin Fraiser.

The Prime Time Emmys were announced today with NBC’s 30 Rock and AMC’s Mad Men leading the pack with with 30 Rock receiving a record 30 nominations and Mad Men earning a total of 19.

First-time nominees  were heavily honored this year as Big Love, Breaking Bad, Family Guy, Flight of the Conchords, How I Met Your Mother were all nominated in the best show categories.

First-time nominees in the acting field were in the drama series performer categories, Simon Baker, lead actor in a drama series for “The Mentalist” and in the supporting drama series categories, Elizabeth Moss in “Mad Men”, Christian Clemenson in “Boston Legal”, Aaron Paul in “Breaking Bad”, William Hurt in “Damages”, Rose Byrne in “Damages”, Hope Davis in “In Treatment” and Cherry Jones in “24”.

First-timers in the comedy series categories included Jim Parsons in “The Big Bang Theory,” Jemaine Clement in “Flight of the Conchords,” Toni Collette in “United States of Tara,” and Sarah Silverman in “The Sarah Silverman Program” in leading roles for their work and Tracy Morgan in “30 Rock,” Jack McBrayer in “30 Rock,” Kristin Wiig in “Saturday Night Live,” Jane Krakowski in “30 Rock,” and Elizabeth Perkins in “Weeds” for supporting.

The Prime Time Emmy Awards, hosted by nominee, Neil Patrick Harris (supporting actor in a comedy series for How I Met Your Mother), will air on Sunday, September 13 in Los Angeles.
