Avalon’s Blue on Blue Restaurant "Anti-Valentine’s" Special

Avalon’s Blue on Blue restaurant offers “My Bloody Valentine” for all the singles that prefer an “anti-valentines” day.
Valentine’s Day is usually a day reserved for all infatuated, smitten, and lovesick couples that flock by the hundreds to all the romantic and dimly lit restaurants where they can enjoy a few unnoticed smooches in peace. Unfortunately, where there are couples, there are also singles who no doubt get increasingly sickened by all the cutesy pet names and air kisses being thrown around. Fortunately, this year Avalon Beverly Hill’s Blue on Blue restaurant is offering an exclusive “My Bloody Valentine” happy hour-style menu on Friday, February 13th for all the individual’s who prefer to celebrate an “anti-valentines” day.

Guests of the intimate, yet high profile Blue on Blue restaurant can relish in a traditional 4-course dreamy dinner while dining beside Avalon Beverly Hills’ sparkling hourglass-shaped pool or while taking in the stunning mid-century décor. The special “My Bloody Valentine” menu commences at 3:00 P.M., which is the start of the regular “Kick the Blues” happy hour, and will stay open through closing until 11:00 P.M.

Black History Month Day 8: Leotyne Price

When noted opera singers in the world are discussed, the name Leontyne Price is sure to come up. For years, she sang in the great opera houses of the world but got her start as a child singing in her church choir. She first came to public notice in 1957, with the San Francisco Opera. She became one of the most popular sopranos in the country, and in appearances around the world. In 1961, she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she went on to become one of the company’s leading sopranos. Among her many honors are 15 Grammy Awards and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In the U.S. today, there are 110 opera companies, and their performances are seen by more than 5 million people a year. This special edition of Profile America for Black History Month is a public service of the U.S. Census Bureau.
